I had an article published in Amrita, the magazine of Yoga Alliance Professionals, on strength in yoga. it includes:

  • an examination of  the scientific definition of strength, why it is important, and how it relates to yoga;
  • 12 yoga positions that can increase strength, including the parts of the body strengthened;
  • the importance of strengthening the core in yoga, plus Donna Farhi’s six-step protocol on how to do this from Pathways to a Centered Body (2017);
  • a sequence to strengthen the hamstrings using Farhi’s protocol;
  • interviews with yoga teachers on how they view strength in yoga.
